The first step in the Bean Bag Chair vacuum cleaning process starts with cleaning the machine, to remove any dirt, debris or crumbs that may have accumulated over time, then using the upholstery attachment on the vacuum cleaner, gently run it over the entire surface of the chair, paying extra attention to the seams and crevices, where dirt tends to accumulate. If the fabric has a removable inner lining, remove the latter, vacuuming separately to remove any hidden dirt or debris.

Vacuuming the seat regularly will minimize the buildup of dirt.

Removing stains

To remove stains or spills from the Bean Bag Chair, especially stains from food and drink, prepare a cleaning solution by mixing a mild dishwashing liquid with water, dipping a soft-bristled brush or sponge into the cleaning solution, and gently wiping the stains, without over scrubbing, to avoid spreading the stains or damaging the fabric. Then, dampen a clean, cloth towel with water and use it to scrub, removing any residue from the cleaning solution. Then, air dry the fabric chair.

An indication of prompt stain removal makes the appearance of said fabric chair attractive.

Deodorizing

Over time, your Bean Bag Chair can absorb odors, from various sources, such as: Food, pets, or general use. To get rid of unpleasant odors from the fabric, you can apply any or more than one of the following methods:

  • Place the beanbag chair in a well-ventilated area, or outdoors, allowing any lingering odors to dissipate.
  • Generously sprinkle baking soda powder on the surface of the fabric chair, which will help absorb and neutralize odors. After sprinkling the baking soda, and waiting for a few hours or overnight, use a vacuum cleaner.
  • You can use a spray specifically designed for upholstery or fabrics, following the instructions on the product label.
  • Prepare a mixture of vinegar and water, by filling a spray bottle with equal amounts of distilled white vinegar and water, and spraying the solution on the fabric chair.

Washing the lid

Dirt on the Bean Bag Chair may require washing the bean bag cover. This is achieved by checking the care label; if the bag cover is machine washable, any removable parts should be removed, such as: Lining or foam inserts if necessary. Then, flip the cover over to the reverse side, washing it separately or with items of a similar color. Avoid using bleach or any harsh chemicals, as they can damage the fabric. It is necessary to set the washing machine to a gentle wash cycle and cold water to prevent any shrinkage or damage to the fabric.

Once the wash cycle is complete, dry the cover, in a well-ventilated area, out of direct sunlight. You should ensure that the cover is completely dry before reinstalling. If the chair cover is not machine washable, stains can be removed using a mild detergent and water, after filling a basin with both, and soaking the cover, with any excess water to be discarded, afterward, without wringing or twisting, so as not to damage the fabric. To remove more moisture, wrap the cover with a clean towel, pressing gently to absorb any remaining water. Then, dry the cover in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
